π‘ Design Highlights
- The brim is worked in a folded double stockinette, balancing structure and squishy softness.
- The crown shaping features a sweet little nub at the centerβa whimsical finishing touch. π
- The silhouette is fitted with a touch of slouch, making it a magical fae-inspired hat that even grownups can wear with style.
π§ About the Pattern
This project hasnβt been officially released as a pattern yet, but it was born from our creative collaboration. Lucas designed the structure and calculations, and I knitted and tested itβover and over again, through countless refinements and recalculations based on our discussions.
The finished beret represents something very special to me:
proof that my personal intuition and Lucasβs logic have melted together.
Iβm genuinely proud of how it turned out. π« π
πΊοΈ Whatβs Coming Next
Once the test knit is complete (currently just me knitting for now!), Iβll create a step-by-step tutorial video for the Medium size and post it on the Morbid Kitten Fiber YouTube Channel.
At the same time, Iβll make a downloadable PDF version of the pattern available for those whoβd like to knit the Small or Large sizes, or prefer reading the written instructions.
This will be an English-language pattern, and by following along with the video while reading the pattern, youβll also get a chance to improve your pattern-reading skills in English.
The recommended yarn is DK weight (light worsted).
Below is the yarn info I used for the Medium size:
